社区 & International Development—MSCID

The 社区 and International Development program offers interdisciplinary study in the humanitarian and development field at the graduate level. This unique approach equips students with the skills needed to identify and respond to social and economic challenges across the globe. Program concentration options offer in depth training - preparing students for professional service in academia, 政策, 宣传, project management, and administration.

PROGRAM LENGTH

  • 学生 will complete 33 credits of required coursework and have the option to add 12 credits of coursework for a concentration.
  • Full Time students typically complete the program in two years.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Prospective students must submit their applications by the dates listed below.

  • Fall (August–December): July 15
  • Spring (January–May): November 15
  • Summer Session 1 (May–June): April 1
  • Summer Session 2 (June–July): May 1
  • Summer Session 3 (July–August): June 1

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

  • Internships and international tours that provide field experience.
  • Small class sizes with 个人 attention from professors.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research projects for publication.

 

入学 REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelors degree (or non-U.S equivalent) from an accredited institution and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or a GPA of 3.0 or above in 8 or more credits of previously taken graduate courses (Applicants with lower GPA may be admitted provisionally upon consideration of the composite profile).
  • Two Recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors, and employers.
  • Resume describing employment, research or special projects.
  • Statement of Purpose reflecting your philosophical perspective, 个人, professional, and academic goals, and reasons for seeking the graduate program.
  • 托福考试, IELTS or PTE (academic): 学生 whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency tests scores.
